Illinois Mom Creates New EdTech Platform Making Math Accessible

Marcia Edel is an Illinois based web app developer, entrepreneur and founder of newly launched web-program, KiwiWrite. Founded on the premise of making math more accessible, and specifically crafted to help those with disabilities thrive in math, KiwiWrite is a computer-based program that removes handwriting as a barrier for learning. As a female entrepreneur in a male-dominated tech field, Edel’s unique experiences have crafted an avenue for her to create a program that helps children and families like her own.

As a mother to a child with dysgraphia and fine motor issues, Edel found motivation in helping her daughter not only make it through school, but to thrive. That inspiration has translated to her program KiwiWrite, a program that can be used in at-home and in school settings. Edel is eager to spread the word about the new program, share her story for families who can relate, and usher in a new era of math accessibility.

Features of KiwiWrite include: all numbers and symbols for students to complete math problem without needing to pick up a pencil, grade-appropriate organization as to avoid clutter, automatic formatting of numbers and symbols, and the ability to automatically import images directly onto the page.
