Jennifer Abrams to Visit Western Australia

International education and communications expert to headline three events

PERTH, WA―Jennifer Abrams, a world-renowned education thought leader and communications consultant, will be visiting Western Australia to headline three education events. Her events begin on 31 August and conclude 11 September, 2017.

The first event will be the Catholic Assistant Principals Association of Western Australia 2017 Conference, held 31 August – 1 September in Burswood. The theme of the conference, “Sowing Seeds of Hope,” will focus on harnessing the power of emotional intelligence, resiliency, and optimism in social and psychological leadership practices. Abrams is scheduled to deliver the keynote address.

Abrams’s next event will be a day-long Hard Conversations Unpacked master class presented to the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA) on 4 September. The AISWA was established in 1962 as a non-profit organization to support, represent, and promote the interests of Independent Schools. AISWA’s constituent members include over 155 independent schools that educate more than 75,000 students, accounting for 16 percent of Western Australia’s school enrollments. The schools employ more than 5,500 teaching and 3,500 non-teaching staff. Abrams’s master class presentation will provide plans, tools, and strategies for being more compassionate and confident when faced with situations involving conflict. The seminar will draw on the work in Jennifer’s books Having Hard Conversations and Hard Conversations Unpacked.

Abrams’s final stop on her Western Australia trip will be the Renaissance Women Leaders Network #RWLN event on 11 September, where she will present “Finding Your Voice Around What Matters.” The RWLN provides women in education with the opportunity to connect, network, and support each other as they navigate their careers. Each event provides an opportunity to learn more about women and leadership, as well as an opportunity for women in education to meet with other women for networking, support, and advice.
