Avantis Education’s ClassVR Wins Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2024 Award

Chicago (September 13, 2024) — Avantis Education, the leader in virtual reality technology for K-12 schools, was named a winner in the Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2024 Awards. The company’s flagship product, ClassVR, won in the Trailblazer: Immersive Reality (AR/VR) category. This is the second year in a row Avantis has won this award.

“Virtual reality is a powerful tool to support instruction and engage students in all subject areas, including STEM and we are honored to earn this recognition,” said Avantis CEO Huw Williams. “This award is judged by STEM educators which makes this win even more meaningful.”

The awards program, operated in partnership with the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), MCH Strategic Data, and the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT), recognizes innovative products, technologies, and services that are changing the world of STEM education. It is judged by a panel of expert STEM educators in a two-part evaluation process.

“The 2024 Best of STEM winners were selected by educators for their innovation, cross-disciplinary approach, and focus on providing students with opportunities to address real-world challenges,” said Daylene Long, CEO of Catapult X and founder of the Best of STEM Awards, in a statement announcing the winners. “Judges noted these forward-thinking companies deliver transformative tools that enrich classroom experiences and encourage students to engage thoughtfully with the world around them.”

ClassVR is an all-in-one VR/AR headset and content platform designed specifically for K-12 classrooms. It includes all hardware, software, tools, training, support and implementation services needed to deploy VR/AR in the classroom. It also provides access to the Eduverse platform, ClassVR’s robust library of content which gives teachers access to hundreds of thousands of pieces of VR and AR content and resources to enhance lessons and engage students more deeply in their learning.

“ClassVR definitely found a unique niche within the VR learning environment,” commented an Educator Judge for the Best of STEM 2024. “Their platform works within 90-95 percent of various (operating systems and devices) and their dynamic learning management system solves common student privacy issues (found in) VR platforms. With the addition of Eduverse, their built-in MDM system easily tracks student use, IP and MAC address, (and) wireless network connections. ClassVR capitalizes on a simple plug and play framework, using QR codes to easily manage wireless network connections.”
