Charlotte, NC (Wednesday, September 13, 2023) — Worldwide edtech leader Discovery Education invites teachers and administrators around the globe to participate in its 12th annual Fall VirtCon, which will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 10 AM to 2 PM Eastern. A no-cost, virtual, professional learning conference designed for users of Discovery Education’s digital resources, VirtCon provides a unique opportunity for educators to learn new, classroom-tested techniques and strategies for igniting each student’s innate curiosity with the latest educational technologies.

To register for this free event, visit the Fall VirtCon webpage here.

The 2023 Fall Virtcon is produced by the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). A global community of education professionals supported by Discovery Education, the DEN connects members across school systems and around the world through social media, virtual conferences, and in-person events, fostering valuable professional learning, idea sharing, networking, and inspiration.

Under the theme of “Igniting the Classroom Spark,” the Fall VirtCon features live, community-led sessions focusing on how educators use Discovery Education’s compelling content and resources to awaken student curiosity in authentic and diverse ways. These sessions are designed to support the professional learning of participants no matter their familiarity with Discovery Education’s services and will focus on a variety of topics of importance to today’s classroom teachers including active learning, using ready-to-use activities, and the gamification of learning.

In addition to the virtual portions of VirtCon, schools nationwide will be hosting their own, in-person viewing parties for the Fall VirtCon.

“Every student walks into the classroom with a spark of curiosity, and it is our job as educators to provide the fuel that will turn that spark into a blaze of learning,” said Ann Crilley, Discovery Education’s Senior Manager of Community Engagement. “The Fall VirtCon provides attendees the space to learn new ways to ignite student curiosity, along with ideas and new strategies to immediately implement their learning into instruction. We invite all teachers and administrators to join us!”
