Discovery Education Invites Teachers and Administrators to Free Day of Professional Learning

Charlotte, NC (Thursday, September 26, 2024)—Edtech leader Discovery Education invites teachers and administrators around the globe to participate in its 13th annual Fall VirtCon, which will be held this year on Saturday, October 19th from 11 AM to 3 PM Eastern. A no-cost, virtual professional learning conference designed for users of Discovery Education’s digital resources, VirtCon provides a unique opportunity for educators to learn new, classroom-tested techniques and strategies for designing engaging learning experiences with innovative educational technologies.

This year’s VirtCon theme is “Igniting Classroom Curiosity” and features live sessions spotlighting how educators use Discovery Education’s award-winning content and resources to awaken student curiosity in authentic and diverse ways. These sessions are designed to support the professional learning of participants no matter their familiarity with Discovery Education’s services and will focus on a variety of topics of importance to today’s classroom teachers including personalization, career exploration, and more. 

“Today’s students come to the classroom seeking new challenges and learning experiences that will activate their curiosity and engage them in instruction,” said Ann Crilley, Discovery Education’s Senior Manager of Community Engagement. “The upcoming Fall VirtCon provides attendees with new ideas and strategies to immediately implement into instruction that will motivate students and lead them to learning.
