Edthena Launches AI Accelerator Program to Help Schools and Districts Jumpstart Their Use of AI for Teacher Professional Learning

Edthena recently launched the AI Accelerator Program to help schools and districts nationwide start experiencing the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) for teacher professional learning. Through the program, school and district leaders can apply for pilot access to the award-winning AI Coach by Edthena platform for up to 50 teachers at a special accelerator price of up to 50 percent off for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.

“It’s no longer a question of ‘should AI be used in schools,’ it’s now about how it should be used,” said Adam Geller, founder and CEO of Edthena. “We want to help schools and districts that want to try these tools this spring instead of waiting till next year. The program enables them to strengthen coaching and mentorship, boost teacher retention, foster teacher self-reflection, and build teachers’ confidence in AI. And, it enables them to do all of this now so they are ready to hit the ground running this fall.”

To apply, school and district leaders complete a short submission with their proposed plan for using AI Coach with teachers this spring. Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the remainder of this school year. Given AI Coach’s short implementation timeline, accepted schools and districts can be up and running in days.

AI Coach is an adaptive, first-of-its-kind solution that uses AI to support teachers as they work through coaching cycles. Using the platform, teachers independently reflect on their practice and set near-term goals as part of a self-paced module that mirrors the instructional coaching process. Teachers have an interactive conversation with Edie, the AI-driven coach, who asks probing, open-ended questions and offers personalized tips for improvement.

The evidence-based process is designed to complement the efforts of school leaders and instructional coaches, and helps to alleviate time and scheduling restraints associated with in-person coaching sessions that can often be a barrier to ongoing professional learning. This enables teachers to get the help they need, when they need it.

By participating in the AI Accelerator Program, schools and districts will join a growing network of innovative educational institutions—across the country and abroad—already using AI Coach to increase coaching capacity, improve teacher retention, and elevate student achievement.

“Having 50 teachers receive an extra, personalized coaching cycle in the coming weeks can go a long way in supporting teachers and, in turn, students this year,” added Geller.
