UNITED STATES, APRIL, 2024 – Educational Publisher, Twinkl, will celebrate National ASL Day by providing FREE American Sign Language Resources on their website.
April 15, 2024 is National ASL Day – an event celebrated every year to raise awareness of American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is a language widely used by the Deaf community in the United States.
In the US, over 500,000 hearing-impaired and Deaf community members use ASL. Whether you’re an educator, student, interpreter, or parent, this initiative aims to support ASL learning and promote inclusivity across the United States.
Recognizing the efforts of educators who give their time, care, and support to students every single day, Twinkl, in alignment with its mission to “help those who teach,” will be offering access to expert-made resources as part of their ASL Teaching Pack.
According to a report by the Modern Language Association, ASL is now the third most studied non-English language in higher education in the US.
Jude Schroeder, Country Manager for Twinkl in the United States, said:
“I want to encourage all communities, schools, teachers, children, and parents to celebrate American Sign Language Day to foster linguistic diversity, inclusivity, and cultural empathy in their classrooms and homes. Twinkl’s ASL teaching resources are expertly written, signed, and professionally designed to ensure a child-friendly learning experience you can trust.”
