Ridgeland, Mississippi—May 6, 2024 — SchoolStatus, a leader in K-12 district solutions that empower schools to increase family engagement and student attendance, today announced the launch of a new native integration with the beloved newsletter builder, Smore.
Smore’s much-loved newsletter builder has more than a million users in 70% of the schools and districts in the U.S. The platform helps educators, principals, and superintendents communicate with families and ensure school announcements and resources make it home—instead of ending up buried in a backpack.
SchoolStatus acquired Smore in 2022 to complement the company’s existing data-driven communications platform. Now users can build and send Smore newsletters directly within the SchoolStatus Connect integrated communications platform.
“Educators love Smore. So much so that they painstakingly bounce between it and older, district-mandated systems to send newsletters. SchoolStatus Connect is a great centralized communications hub, and Smore adds a wow factor that almost every district recognizes,” shared Jason DeRoner, Chief Product Officer for SchoolStatus. “And the added value goes to families as well—they can choose how they receive a newsletter, whether via text, email, or family app. They also don’t end up with newsletters from the wrong classrooms because SchoolStatus Connect syncs directly with their Student Information System (SIS)—a huge time saver for educators.”
The SchoolStatus Connect/Smore integration enables educators and administrators to:
When school leaders, educators, and administrators reach families via their preferred communication method, it builds trust, encourages more engagement, and, most importantly, empowers students to succeed. Integrating Smore newsletters into their K-12 school communications platform is one more way SchoolStatus enables districts to gather actionable insights, engage families, and improve attendance on the number one platform for K-12 success.
