PHOENIX (May 14, 2024)Bluum, a leading provider of education technology, has unveiled a suite of free grant resources and consulting services designed to help districts navigate the process of applying for School Violence Protection Program (SVPP) funds offered by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS).

The COPS SVPP grant, which last year distributed more than $73 million to enhance districts’ security measures through evidence-based safety programs, is currently open for applications.  All public school districts (even those with a single school), public school boards, and public charter schools are eligible. Applications for the grant must be submitted in a two-step process, each with its own deadline. The first deadline, for which materials must be submitted via Grants.gov is June 11, 2024. The second deadline, for which materials must be submitted through JustGrants, is June 17, 2024.

“The SVPP grant program is a powerful opportunity to improve campus safety, but few busy administrators have the time and resources to take on a grant application of this size,” said Emily Cook, vice president of education services at Bluum. “Bluum understands how busy senior leadership is and how much this money would mean to them. We’re excited to make this a lighter lift for them through our comprehensive support and personalized consultations that guide them through the application process as they work to ensure the safety and well-being of their students and staff.”

Bluum’s no-cost SVPP grant resources include:

“Keeping schools safe is a multifaceted issue where digital and physical security blend together, requiring a proactive, data-driven approach,” said Derrek Hallock, CEO of Bluum. “Whether we’re helping districts secure their campuses or their data, Bluum is committed to sharing our knowledge and expertise to create an atmosphere where educators and students can focus on teaching and learning. Our suite of free SVPP grant resources simplifies the application process, empowering educational leaders to secure this critical funding.”
