Jumping Into Music!

Anne Fennell music educator at Mission Vista High School in California was recently named one of ten Grammy Educator of the Year Award finalists. Fennell spent time with Dr. Berger discussing the role music education plays in supporting young people's development in the greater ecosystem of education. Fennell exudes positive energy and her stories of student impact from the creative arts support why music education is important to all of us.

Fennell spent time with Dr. Berger discussing the role music education plays in supporting young people’s development in the greater ecosystem of education. Fennell exudes positive energy and her stories of student impact from the creative arts support why music education is important to all of us.

The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education. The winner receives a $10,000 honorarium and a $10,000 grant for his or her school and is flown to Los Angeles to receive the award and attend the Grammy award ceremony. The ten finalists, as well as their schools, each receive a $1,000 honorarium.
