New program allows schools and districts to offer woodworking at a low cost

(East Orange, N.J.) November 30, 2022 – Maplewoodshop, a leader in teaching woodworking to students, launches its Maplewoodshop starter program, which allows school districts to quickly start a small woodworking program in elementary and middle schools. The program enables educators to introduce woodworking to their students at a small scale and a low initial cost.

“Our starter program is a great way for schools to discover woodworking and how it can fit in their classrooms,” said Mike Schloff, CEO of Maplewoodshop. “Woodworking is a great way to engage all learners, and this offering is a solution we created to allow more schools to offer woodworking programs. Similar to our full program, this starter kit provides all of the tools, materials, and training needed to get started with woodworking.”

Maplewoodshop’s safe, portable, and easy-to-implement starter program enables students to engage in a hands-on tactile experience that promotes learning in STEM and Career Technical Education. Students build projects, including String Art and Keepsake Boxes, while also developing real-life skills.

The starter program is a turnkey solution that provides live, remote teacher training, two student-friendly workbenches, four sets of tools (including tape measure, combination square, hand saw, hammer, and goggles), email support, 16 sets of project-ready materials, curricula for four projects (Sanding Block, Tower Blox, String Art, and Keepsake Box), and access to support and lesson plans for six months.

Schools can save $250 off of the retail price of the starter program when purchasing before January 15, 2023. To learn more about Maplewoodshop and its starter program, visit www.maplewoodshop.com/starterprogram.
