Jane Mell Balek, Assistant Executive Director, Center for Marketing and Resource Development at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) discusses music advocacy, education and marketing efforts to support members and students in the arts. Balek also serves as the COO of the Give A Note Foundation.
Since 2011, Give a Note Foundation has conducted national awareness campaigns and raised funds to support and strengthen music education programs across the U.S. The programs have reached millions of parents and students and provided more than $1 million in direct grants to schools. She joined the Give A Note Foundation in 2007. Balek is a veteran nonprofit executive with 15 years of experience with numerous organizations including the United Way, Urban Institute, and American Institutes for Research.
