Charlotte, NC (Tuesday, February 25, 2025)—Illinois’ Valley View School District 365 (VVSD) has selected the adaptive online reading program DreamBox Reading Plus by Discovery Education to support efforts to improve student literacy in grades 6-8 this year. An edtech leader, Discovery Education is the creator of essential K-12 solutions trusted by teachers and students around the world.
VVSD is located in Will County, Illinois, southwest of the City of Chicago, and serves the communities of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, and portions of Plainfield, Lockport, and Downers Grove. VVSD serves the educational needs of approximately 15,500 students in 21 educational facilities, and is one of Will County’s largest employers, with more than 2400 full time employees.
To support improved student literacy and to meet the goals of the district’s strategic plan, school leaders at VVSD sought a classroom-tested, adaptive, online reading program that would support students’ continued growth in literacy through personalized instruction and intervention. Following a careful review of available resources, the district selected DreamBox Reading Plus by Discovery Education.
DreamBox Reading Plus is independently proven to accelerate student achievement. It focuses on vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency development, and includes a reliable assessment that can be used as a screener, placement test, and measure of growth.
