In this episode of Conference Connections, an interview series with K20 thought leaders, we chat with Chris Burns from Incident IQ. The edCircuit team caught up with Chris at TCEA 2023. The topic of this discussion was K12 technology organization, management, and integration.
“As of last week we had 4 primary products and we just launched our fifth this week. Our four main areas are technology, facilities, HR, and events…we help technology teams manage their chromebooks and iPads, if a student breaks something we help service that and make it painfree and easy process as possible. We do the same thing with facilities and maintenance so they can keep assets up – buildings running with high quality HVAC systems and preventative maintenance, [We help] HR with onboarding and off boarding employees effectively… Now with events, all these spaces you may be letting your community or employees share we help organize that chaos.”
Seamless Workflow Management
At the beginning of this conversation, Chris explores Incident IQ’s district-focused approach, primarily how they focus on integrating into the district model. A unique feature of their platform is the focus on K12 education. Many other providers in the space are not solely focused on education.
As many educators and administrators know, one of the most difficult aspects of a new system is integration and training. Incident IQ has former educators on their teams and has built their system to be completely focused on schools and their needs. Their team will implement the system in the district and provide professional development for the district staff to best integrate it to a school’s unique needs. A New Program for Event Workflow Management
In the second half of the conversation, Chris discusses the rollout of their new product, a workflow management system primarily focused on event planning and management. Events are often a point of frustration between schools and management teams. Tracking events, staffing events that need additional support, and managing space can all be done from their new tool.
