The SchoolBzz Parent App now supports translation into 25 languages, giving all parents the opportunity to receive announcements and assignment information in their preferred language

October 24, 2019

Greenwood Village, Colo.  — SchoolBzz has announced that the platform is now integrated with Amazon Translate, expanding the opportunity for all families to engage with their child’s school, regardless of their preferred language. The SchoolBzz Parent App now supports translation into 25 different languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, and many more. After downloading the SchoolBzz app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, parents can choose their preferred language during the sign up process or from the settings page within their user profile.

“Accessibility is a key principle of SchoolBzz, and in today’s highly diverse schools, a commitment to accessibility requires that we account for the many languages spoken at home by students and their families,” said Jennifer Larson, co-founder and CEO of Hive Digital Minds, creators of SchoolBzz. “The addition of multi-language support represents a major step toward giving every parent and guardian access to the information they need to be actively involved in their child’s education. We’re proud to provide schools with a communication tool that simplifies parent engagement and gives families a more equitable opportunity to support their children.”

In recognition of its efforts to improve the way schools can engage every parent, SchoolBzz was recently named the winner of the 2019 Tech Edvocate Award for “Best Parent-Teacher/School Communication App or Tool.” The platform was designed from the ground up with parents’ needs in mind, based on years of research into families’ experiences and frustrations with school communications. With this new feature, content transmitted from schools will be translated in real-time, eliminating yet another barrier to effective communication and eliminating the need for costly or time-consuming translation processes.
