At the time of this 2015 edCircuit interview, David Weston was chief executive of the Teacher Development Trust, the national charity for effective professional development in schools and colleges that he founded in 2012 after nine years teaching secondary mathematics and physics. In 2015 the Department for Education appointed him chair of its Teachers' Professional Development Expert Group. He is co-author, with Bridget Clay, of Unleashing Great Teaching.
