The Multiple Roles of a School District Technology Coordinator

Small district multi-tasking to improve technology in schools

Interview with Nanci Greene of Bloomingdale, IL School District 13

In a small district the size of Bloomingdale, IL with two elementary and one middle school, folks in the technology department wear a lot of hats.

Nanci Greene is the Technology Coordinator at Bloomingdale School District 13, in Illinois. Among other things, she manages 1400 Chromebooks, Android tablets for the first graders, multiple networks and most of all, change.

The role of a Technology Coordinator, whether in a small district or large, is largely about understanding the evolving role of tech and how that technology serves student learning. Dr. Berger, president of MindRocket Media Group caught up with Nanci to explore her role as coordinator, and how she evaluates the needs of her district.

About

Nanci Greene has been the Technology Coordinator at Bloomingdale School District 13 for over the past 17 years. Before working for the Bloomingdale School District, Greene held a teacher and technology coordinator position at the Immaculate Conception School.
