peachjar logoPoway Unified School District (PUSD) has saved more than $1.5 million in paper and labor costs annually for the past five years, announced Peachjar, the nation’s leading digital flyer system. Used by more than 12,000 K-12 schools across the U.S., Peachjar was implemented by PUSD in 2013 to deliver important communications directly to parents about school events and after-school enrichment programs. Since that time, Peachjar’s digital platform has saved the district an average of 4.6 million pieces of paper per year, or more than 26 million pieces of paper in aggregate.

“Peachjar opened up a new line of communication with parents for our schools and the numerous community enrichment programs that are available for the kids of Poway Unified,” said Christine Paik, Director of Communications at Poway Unified School District. “Our relationship with Peachjar has not only had a positive environmental and fiscal impact, but it has also increased our ability to reach parents with timely and important information.”

The most recent example of how Poway leveraged the Peachjar platform came when the district recently hosted a “School Safety Community Forum.” This was a forum for parents and students to learn more about what PUSD is doing to address school and student safety. Attendees were invited to learn more and share ideas with district leadership and local law enforcement partners, and details were sent to parents via Peachjar’s digital flyer platform. When more than 700 parents signed up to attend, Poway had to switch venues in order to fit all of the attendees.

“The ‘School Safety Community Forum’ showed how powerfully districts can leverage Peachjar to engage parents and inform them about opportunities to support enrichment and safety for their children,” said Mike Durham, CEO of Peachjar. “The Poway Unified School District is an exemplary Peachjar user, as they have not only achieved tremendous cost savings, but have also demonstrated the most important reason schools use digital flyers to communicate: to make sure every parent has access to essential information to support their children.”
