How do you define the role of a principal? The job can feel overwhelming, and Jethro Jones is no stranger to the feeling of defining the role on the job. To define the role and successful practices of excellent school leaders, Jethro interviewed leaders and principals across the education world. This book is a culmination of over 400 interviews Jethro conducted on the Transformative Principal Podcast. Jones relates stories of great success, horrific failures, and everything in between within the context of the school year. The book is designed for and by educators to make the most impact. 

“To be a transformative principal means transforming the school, the people, and the culture you are working with into something better…No one just wants to be putting out fires; everybody wants to help whoever they are working with to get better and lead at the highest level possible.”

Jethro focuses on his leadership hierarchy and how leaders can find themselves moving towards effective leadership. Then, inspired by his own experience, Jethro pushes leaders to inspire their students to greatness. Jethro’s principle philosophy is based on individual and lasting success. As he discusses in this episode, lasting success happens when you empower the individual to greatness.
